A Small Venue With Big Flavour

About Us

Since opening their first restaurant, Fleur de Sel, in 2004, Martin and Sylvie have continued to expand and bring new and exciting dining experiences to residents and visitors of Lunenburg and surrounding areas. They opened the Salt Shaker Deli & Inn in 2007, the South Shore Fish Shack in 2014, the Half-Shell Oyster Bar in 2016, and the Beach Pea Kitchen & Bar in 2018. All restaurants are conveniently located on Montague Street in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.

Born in Nova Scotia to a father from Madrid, Bar Salvador is an homage to Chef Martin’s Spanish heritage. Influenced by many trips to Spain, Bar Salvador blends Spanish and Nova Scotian culture in a way that is both elegant and natural.

“There’s a natural coupling between both Spanish and Nova Scotian cuisines. Both of our cultures feature fresh seafood prominently in our dishes. It’s our goal to unify the two into a celebration of delicious tapas-style dishes, done authentically right here in Lunenburg.” says restaurant chef Martin Ruiz Salvador.

Housed in the old Block Shop - where wooden blocks and pulleys were crafted for the bustling ship industry in town - the space has been transformed into a vibrant dining room that harkens to its European roots.

Aside from the food, Bar Salvador combines other attributes of both cultures: inviting atmospheres, friendly attitudes, and a shared love of drink.
